Chandeliers

Chandeliers in the North aisleIn the Chancel the previous lights were replaced with energy efficient Metal Halide lamps. In the Nave and the side aisles the overhead lamps were removed and chandeliers were hung in each of the ten arches. Two more chandeliers were situated in the Nicholas Chapel and in the North Chancel aisle behind the organ.

Each chandelier Following an appeal, all twelve chandeliers were quickly sponsored and Phil Stephens started manufacture at the end of April 2006.  After much sawing, routing, gluing, screwing, sanding, polishing, wiring and several protracted correspondences with glass engravers and lamp suppliers they were eventually finished in October 2006.

They were all installed in the church early in November 2006 and following the rewiring by Elnaugh and Son Ltd. they were first lit early in December 2006.  The lights were dedicated by Bishop Laurie of Bradwell at a Service on 8 July 2007.
